On 13th August 2024, the first-year students at SRMIST, Ramapuram, had the privilege of attending a motivational and insightful talk titled “Campus to Career,” delivered by Mrs. Prachi, an esteemed alumna from the 2014-2018 batch. Mrs. Prachi’s session aimed to provide students with a clear understanding of career development strategies and professional growth opportunities.
The alumni community had the honor of hosting an insightful session with Shyam Karthik(2019-23), a distinguished alumnus of the Information Technology program, who delivered a compelling presentation titled “Recent Trends in IT: Navigating the Future of Technology” on 12.08.2024. Drawing on his extensive industry experience, Shyam explored the latest advancements in technology, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
On 18th September 2024, the second-year students at SRMIST, Ramapuram, had the opportunity to attend an enlightening session titled “Career Insights into Current Trends in IT,” delivered by Mr. Akshay, a Manual Tester at American Express, Bengaluru, from the 2017-2021 batch. Mr. Akshay’s session provided valuable guidance to the students on the latest IT trends and how to navigate their career paths in this evolving field.
To guide second-year students through the transition from campus to career planning, Mr. Mitesh, an alumnus (2012-16) from the Department of IT and Technology Lead at Infosys, Bengaluru, delivered an engaging and informative session on 04.10.2024. He shared his corporate journey, offered valuable advice on professional growth, and provided practical tips for placement preparation. The interactive session allowed students to clear their doubts, gain clarity on domain selection, and get inspired for their future careers.
On 14th October 2024, the third-year IT A section students at SRMIST, Ramapuram, attended an insightful session with Mr. Nalan, a Senior Software Engineer at Bank of America and an alumnus from the 2019-2023 batch. During the session, Mr. Nalan emphasized the importance of communication skills and aptitude-solving abilities, crucial for career success in the IT industry. He also provided guidance on placement preparation, encouraging students to focus on securing job offers before graduation. His engaging and interactive approach allowed students to clarify their doubts, gain valuable insights, and get inspired to shape their future careers in the IT domain.
