The UI Green Metric World University Ranking is an initiative of Universitas Indonesia which is being launched in 2010. The major criteria of the grading system is focussed on the steps taken by the universities to towards improving sustainability. The classification has been done based on online survey regarding the current condition and policies related to Green Campus and Sustainability in the Universities all over the world. This ranking system has been initiated to draw attention of university leaders and stake holders to pay attention for combating global climate change, energy and water conservation, waste recycling, and green transportation. SRMIST stands 9th in Country Wise and 392nd in World Wide Ranking by UI Metric.
