SRM INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, Ramapuram Campus, Department of Electronics and Communication has organized 7 Days Online Faculty development program on “Advanced Materials and Process for Next-Generation Nanoelectronics Devices: Challenges and Opportunities“27.6.2022 to4.7.2022 through Zoom Meet. The Inaugural function has been graced by our VP Academic (E&T), Chief Guest Dr. P.Vimala, Associate Professor, Department of ECE, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Shavige Malleshwara Hills, Bangalore-590078. VP Academic (E&T) has greeted the gathering and listed the significance of Nano-electronics. He has mentioned that Nano-electronics has become the foundation of advanced manufacturing.
The Inaugural function started with the welcome address by Dr. Phani kumar Polasi, HoD/ECE. He welcomed all those who have joined the meeting, thanked the resource person for spending his valuable time along with us.
The Inaugural function is concluded by the thanks note and Day 1 session started by Dr. P.Vimala, Associate Professor, Department of ECE, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering. Her session was on “The impact of Nanotechnology on Integrated Circuits”, which covered how nanotechnology is used in electronics, optoelectronic and medical imaging. The Day 1 session ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. A. Mohanbabu.
Day 2 session started with the welcome speech by Dr. Megala, Professor-Department of ECE, Dr. A. Mohanbabu gave an introduction of Resource person Dr. Bharat Sreenivasulu, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, VIT, Chennai. His session was on “Emerging Gate all around FETs towards CMOS Analog and Digital Circuit Applications at Nano regime”. He gave a detailed explanation about new design and architecture paradigms, as well as process technologies available for Fin-FET nanoelectronics which include: hybrid molecular/semiconductor electronics, one dimensional nanotubes/nanowires and advanced molecular electronics. The day 2 session concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Phanikumar Polasi, HOD-ECE.
Day 3 session started with the welcome speech by Dr. Ramani, Assistant Professor-Department of ECE, Dr. A. Mohanbabu gave an introduction of Resource person Ms.Ritu Sinha,Embedded Software Engineer, TCS, Pune. Her Session was about “Role of embedded system in Automotive Domain”. He gave an insight on embedded systems in Automotive vehicles for the past two decades. An in-vehicle embedded electronic architecture is a complex distributed system has several key demands in the development process, such as safety requirements, real-time assessment, schedulable, composability, etc. The day 3 session concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Megala.
Day 4 session started with the welcome speech by Dr. A. Mohanbabu Associate Professor-Department of ECE, Dr. Megala gave an introduction of Resource person Dr. Sakthivel, Associate Professor, VIT, Chennai. His session was on “VLSI Design Flow using open-source EDA Tools and STA”. He gave a detailed explanation about Digital and Analog IC design – Schematic Capture, Layout design & Optimization, RTL to GDS II design flow using open source EDA tool. Day 4 session ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Ramani.
Day 5 session started with the welcome speech by Dr. A. Mohanbabu, Associate Professor-Department of ECE, Dr. Ramani gave an introduction of Resource person Dr. Deepak Anandan, Principal Process Integration Engineer, skyline semiconductor services. His session was on “Semiconductor process techniques- An overview”. He discussed on Semiconductor Fabrication & Process, Growth technique, Front-end process and back-end process related to device fabrication. He even showed his experimental results related to nano-device performance. Day 5 session concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. A. Mohanbabu.
Day 6 session started with the welcome speech by Dr. Megala, Assistant Professor-Department of ECE, Dr. Ramani gave an introduction of Resource Dr. Sathieesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, MIT, Anna university, Chennai. His session was on “Embedded Controller and it’s Applications”. He concentrated on Smart Embedded System Design Approaches, Embedded control systems along with a practical example. Day 6 session concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Ramani.
Day 7 session started with the welcome speech by Dr. Megala, Assistant Professor-Department of ECE, Dr. Ramani gave an introduction of Resource person Dr. A. Mohanbabu, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram – Chennai. His session was on “Power Semiconductor Devices and ICs”. He gave an overview of power ICs and applications, power semiconductor devices, novel power devices; DC-DC converters, system power ICs, for various industrial applications. Day 7 session concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Ramani.
