Description of the Event/Objective:
Ministry of Education to organise “Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye” in Higher Educational institutions across country to ensure universal enlightened participation of youth in elections. The “Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye” campaign is also being implemented in various higher educational institutions of the country. The main objective of the initiative is to engage and encourage young voters to come out and vote and to convey the importance of voting for the larger good of the nation. The initiative Symbolizes the importance of Elections and the pride of voting in the largest democracy of the world.
Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has urged young voters, who have made it to the voters’ list for the first time, to come forward and exercise their democratic right to vote. A nationwide campaign called?? “Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye” (My first vote is for the country) is underway to connect the first-time voters.
As per the communications from AICTE, ” Mera Pehla Vote Desh ke Liye ” campaign has been started with warm welcome Address by Dr.M.Saravanan,Associate Professor,HOD(i/c), Department of Physics and Institution Coordinator,Campus Life.
The programme was graced by Respected Dean(E&T), Dean(Campus Life),Vice Principal(Admin),HODs, Department Campus Life Coordinators and Students from all branches.
Dean (Campus Life) felicitated the gathering. She encompasses the importance of rights for Voting and created the awareness among the students with her valuable Speech.
Dean(E&T) Presided over the programme. In Presidential address, Dean(E&T) encouraged Young Voters to come out for their first vote to the country and conveyed the importance of voting for the larger development of the Nation and also expressed how it helps to understand the significance of voting in a democracy.
In view of the programme, The Team Campus Life, FET organized Campaign on?? “Mera Pehla Vote -Desh ke liye( My first vote to the country)”?? at 9.00 am in HiTech Hall-II,TRP Auditorium, SRM IST, Ramapuram through conducting various events like:

Digital Poster making Competition
Skit performance
Speech on “My First Vote for the Country”
Mera Pehla Vote – Desh Ke Liye is more than just a campaign. It’s a feeling of patriotism, a call to responsibility, and our chance to be the architect of Our nation’s destiny. In this Campaign the students participated with great enthusiasm and acquire knowledge about India’s Democracy And thr Importance of Voting. The winners of Crossword Puzzle and Digital Poster Making competitions were received certificates. The Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr.Thangan, Assistant Professor Professor,Department of ECE. The contribution by the students towards the programme was immense. We thank the management for providing immense support to make this campaign a grand success.
