Faculty Achievements:

Mr. C. Aravindan, Assistant Professor (Selection Grade), ECE Department submitted a project entitled TOXIC GAS LEVEL MONITORING IN SEWAGE SYSTEM under Technology Development Transfer Division and Device Development Programme (DDP) recommended and approved for funding by Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology (DST) in the year 2019.

Mr. A. Ajin Roch received Best Poster Award for the paper “Implementation of ML Algorithms for Dynamic Clocking in Embedded Devices” in Dr. Paarivendhar Research Colloquium – 2019, SRMIST, Kattankulathur-603203 during the period 23rd to 25th September 2019. Among 1200 full-time and part-time research scholars, he is awarded with ECE specialization.

Dr R Vani, Professor Department of ECE received a certificate of appreciation form Texas Instruments, Bangalore for TI Embedded System Design MOOC course offered by NPTEL.

As many students have registered for the MOOC Embedded Design System on NPTEL platform, the department has received 77 MSP430 Lunch box kits from Texas instruments for the benefit of students doing MOOC Embedded System design course.

Dr.R.Arthi, has been Felicitated with Academic Excellence Award 2020 as Best Professor in Electronics and Communication Engineering on 27th December 2020 in Hyderabad by Academy of Management Professionals (AMP) powered by IDMBA.

Dr. M Roopa Associate Professor received an award for Best Teacher Award from Technical Research Publications for providing research awards to honour people with amazing triumphs in their technical research activity and for academic excellence.

Mrs. B. Padmavathi, Assistant Professor (Senior Grade), Department of ECE has been recognized as an NPTEL Motivated Learner under NPTEL STARS category by the NPTEL, A project funded by MHRD, Govt of India.

INDIA INNOVATION CHALLENGE DESIGN CONTEST 2018 (IICDC 2018) project contest was conducted by NSR CEL, Texas Instruments, DST and Government in the year of 2018. Mr. Ripun Joy Madhab Buddha and Mr. Prashant Pranav Shukla are the students of the ECE Department who participated in the contest and qualified contest till the final round under the guidance Mrs. P. Ramani, Assistant Professor (SG), ECE Department, Received an appreciation award for this Project Contest.

Dr.Arthi R, Keynote Speaker for “International Conference on Industry 4.0 and Artificial Intelligence Technologies (INAIT 2019)”, held from August 19-20,2019 in Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom and delivered a keynote talk on “Energy Harvesting in Industrial Wireless Sensor.

This is funded for pursuing her Ph.D. work under “Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme for Electronics and IT” funded by the Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India.

First year ECE student Mr.Jay Aswin.S  has won two silver medals in Chengalpattu ARM (Left and Right) Wrestling Championship -2023 under 85Kg youth boys category

HARSH VARDHAN BAJAJ  and A NIJANTH of Final year ECE has participated   in 5th TECHNOVATION HACKATHON  organized by Sharda school of Engineering and Technology, Sharda University and secured SECOND prize worth of Rs.10,000 in Hackathon held from from 30th January- 4th February 2023 at Greater Noida

Mr.Pavan Kalyan.P.S of second year ECE has represented Tamilnadu state and participated as player in YSPA Youth National Championship -2023 organized by YSPAI and approved by Ministry of Micro,Small and  Medium Enterprises (MSME) , Government of India and secured Gold Medal in Volleyball game in Men’s category held from 6th Jan to 8th Jan 2023 at Amritsar, Punjab.

ARM Innovation Challenge is organized every year by ARM along with STMicroelectronics and AICTE. This year the challenge was conducted from August 2022-November 2022. Our ECE Department students ANUSRI. V and APARNNA AJAY of 4th year got selected as finalists for their project MLoRa32: A Safety Helmet for Mining Workers.

MLoRa32: A safety helmet for mining workers is a smart helmet that can send out a signal to the control center so that they are notified of the miner’s risk. It continuously monitors environmental conditions and the health conditions of the worker which is then transmitted to the control center using the LoRa module. This helps to better strengthen safety in mines and take care of miners. The MLoRa32: A safety helmet for mining workers can transmit and receive data within a range of 10 km.

Prices and Laurels:

The award for Finalists consists of ARM development Studio worth 5000 US $ and STM32 development suite consisting of both Hardware and Software.

NEWGEN IEDC PROJECT DETAILS:
Benjamin George Samuel, Deepak Shankar R., Krishna Teja B., Kanvar Kailash T., Chandresh Muthukumaran & Vignesh Sekar, III Year ECE Students, have received fund of Rs.63,317 from NewGen IEDC, SRM Innovation & Incubation Center, SRMIST, KTR for a period of 1 year for the project titled “DEVELOPMENT OF COMPRESSION TECHNIQUES TO TRANSMIT VIDEOS / HD IMAGES ON HALF DUPLEX VERY HIGH FREQUENCY (VHF) BAND”.

ROTATHON 2021 CONTEST:
Min Oviya S (III Year ECE) , Akhil Sanker (III Year CSE, AIML), Melvin Abraham (III Year CSE, AIML), Jeshron Sonali.A (III Year ECE) have won Rs.25,000 in the Grand Finale of ROTATHON 2021 held on 09.05.2021 for the project titled: SEED CERTIFICATION USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE” under the track Advancement in Agriculture. The team was one amongst the best teams from the 350+ registrations over 18 countries.

Arthi from Department of ECE Won 3rd prize cash award on Project day and Open house 2020 held on Jan 9th and 10th in SRMIST Ramapuram campus for the project titled “Automatic Threat Sensing and Monitoring System for Woman Safety – RAKSHAK”
