IST EFL DEPT DR. WALTER HUGH PARKER AS EXTERNAL RESOURCE PERSON FOR WEBINAR ON LEARNING FOREIGN LANGUAGES – OPPORTUNITIES AND AMAZING BENEFITS, SRMIST TRICHY CAMPUS, 26 AUGUST 2021 REPORT
Dr. Walter Hugh Parker, Assistant Professor in French from the Department of English and Other Foreign Languages, SRMIST Ramapuram, delivered a lecture-presentation on the topic “Learning Foreign Languages – Opportunities and Amazing Benefits” for the UG French aspirants of SRMIST, Trichy Campus on 26 August 2021, as part of the Webinar Series on Competency Development. He deliberated on the importance of learning a foreign language, which language to choose and the scope of the top 4 foreign languages learned in India. He also gave an overview of the French culture and civilization and the career prospects for those proficient in French in India and abroad. The lecture was followed by a lively Q & A session. The live webinar was attended by around 100 students who participated enthusiastically and registered positive feedback.
