Institute of Engineers (India) – Students Chapter is organized an event named “VOLTROB” on 12th of October and 13th of October 2018. The following report consists a brief summary and participation details of each round.

- Intelliquest :-
The registered participants had to take an aptitude and general knowledge test in this round. There were two papers PAPER-I & PAPER-II. Each paper had ten questions and each team had to score minimum five in PAPER-I to qualify for PAPER-II to be checked.
The participants had to find solution to the questions which were a mixture of general aptitude and knowledge based questions. The participants had to use team work and us their collective intelligence to answer the questions which turned out to be quiet a lot of fun.
Out of 12 teams 11 had scored above 5 in PAPER-I and out of these 11 teams 8 had scored above 5 in PAPER-II. At the end of day 1 of the event all the students were given Certificate of Participation.
- PICTIONARY :- This round consisted of two phases. In PHASE-I, a member from each team was given a technical term, which he/she then had to express to his/her team member only by means of diagram.
All the teams were provided with words like “Computer”, “Motherboard”, etc. The participants had a great time explaining each other the words pictorially.
In PHASE-II, they will be given a page of a newspaper. The teams then had to circle the words that are synonyms of the word given to them by the presenter in the newspaper. The same page of newspaper was provided to all the teams and each team was given twenty minutes to read the page thoroughly. Most of the team ended up splitting the paper into three portions. After twenty minutes were over they were given 10 words one after the other. After each word they were given two minute to find the synonym or antonym for the word and mark it.
Among the following team 1 & 2 were eliminated. The remaining participated in Round 3.
- GAME of CARDS :- In this round, each team had to solve block diagram which was on the basis of production of things and also on the basis of general life. Here the team member had to solve the first stack which would have 6-10 cue cards. The cards were arranged in a proper order. Once the first stack got solved they would get a clue which would lead them to next stack and this is how the relay work’s.
Running around the campus was quite an amusing experience for the students. While it started at the 7th floor of Admin Block, the students had to search throughout the campus in search of envelopes which had the cue cards in them.
Each member was given a particular location to wait for the teams. The teams were given the first envelope while they were in the class. On completion of the task they were given the next location. Team 1 returned back to class and won the round and the event as well.
Team 1 won round 3 and were awarded the first prize. Team 2 & 3 came 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The event was an overall success with large number to teams participating and feedback for the event has positive with all the participants praising the well thought out and meticulously planned rounds being enjoyable while being educational at the same time. Mr. J. Ajay Daniel and the members of IEI had worked hard to plan and prepare for the event since months and were proud and delighted to see the event being an overall success.
