The Mathematics association “Fractal” of Department of Mathematics, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, conducted the mathematical event “KNOW THE INFINITY” on 20th February 2020. “Know the infinity” is a Mathematics quiz competition to test and have fun answering math question. The competition consists of 3 rounds and each round is qualifier basis. As the name suggests, this quiz pushes the infinite thinking of students.
The event had three intriguing rounds, each aiming to test the participants on their mathematical skills. The first round of the event was named as ”P2 round”. The second round of event was named as “D and MCQ round”. The qualified teams from the first two rounds competed in the final round named as “Math Bowl”.
The first prize was won by Sayak De Sarkar, Rohith.A,Harish Raghavendher V of first year Mechanical and Automation Department. The second prize was won by Santhi Swaroop Chebolu, Ankit Singh, P.P. Nihal Yadav of first year ECE Department. Harsh Vardhan, Ashrith, Mehul Choudhary of first year ECE Department won the third prize.
During the Valedictory function, Dr. Shakeela Sathish, Head, Department of Mathematics distributed the prizes to the winners and congratulated the student coordinators for the successful conduct of the event.The event helped in actuating the analytical thinking of the students and encouraging them to think out of box.
