National Level Faculty Development Programme on Advanced Science & Technology
The Department of Physics has organized “National Level Faculty Development Programme on Advanced Science & Technology” on 05-05-2021 (Wednesday) for School Teachers, Faculties, Research Scholars & PG Students.
The seminar started with a warm welcome address by Dr. L. Sudha, Professor and Head, Department of Physics and also Convener of the Seminar.
In the first session, Dr. N. Vijayan, Principal Scientist, Indian Reference Materials Division, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi has delivered lecture on the topic “Importance of precise measurements in Advanced Science and Technology”. He discussed about recent measurement techniques in advanced Science and Technology. He also advised the students to look into the social problems. The session was moderated by Dr.M.Saravanan, Assistant Professor (S. G) and coordinator of the FDP.
In the second session, Dr. D. Sastikumar, Professor, Department of Physics, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli delivered lecture on the topic “Non-Destructive testing in industries”. He discussed elaborately about design and development of new nondestructive testing in industries and its applications. This session was moderated by Dr.A.Nataraj, Assistant Professor (S. G) and coordinator of the FDP.
We received overwhelming registrations, 242 School Teachers, Faculties, Research Scholars & PG Students actively participated in Zoom from all over India. The participants raised questions to the speakers and discussed about the topics. The sessions were very vibrant and participants gave very good feedback.
The session was convened and chaired by Dr. L. Sudha, Hod/Physics. Dr.A.Nataraj, Assistant Professor (S. G) has proposed the Vote of Thanks.
