The Department of Physics has organized Two Days online “Faculty Development Programme on Recent Advances in Physics” for School Teachers organised by Department of Physics, SRMIST, Ramapuram Campus on 3rd and 4th June 2020.
First day programme started with a warm welcome address by Dr. L. Sudha, Professor and Head, Department of Physics, Convener of FDP. The faculty members of the Department Dr. M. Saravanan, Asst. Prof. (Sl. G), Coordinator of FDP and Dr. K. Subramanian, Asst. Prof. (Sr. G) gave enlightening talks on “Adventures in Nanoworld” and “Semiconducting Devices” for Interdisciplinary Applications. 193 School Teachers attended the first day FDP.
Second day programme started with presentation on “New approach in Teaching using ICT” by Dr. M. Saravanan,Asst.Prof (OG). Then, Dr. L. Sudha, Convener, presented a talk on “Fiber Optics” and Dr.A.Nataraj, Asst. Prof.(S.G),Coordinator of FDP gave a demonstration on “ Virtual Lab” to School Teachers. The Virtual lab demonstration was well received by the partcipants. 195 participants attended the second day FDP. The participants interacted with the team presenters and every session was followed by an interactive discussion on both the days. The participants have given good feedback about the programme and organizing committees.
