Importance of the webinar
It is important for students and faculty alike to keep up with the latest technologies in their respective fields. Microservices have effectively replaced the Monolithic Architecture of programming, improving on both cost and scalability. Hence it is important to educate the future software developers on this new approach to software development.
Synopsis
The Webinar started with the welcome address by Mr. T. H. Feiroz Khan, A.P/CSE followed by a brief introduction about the speaker Mr. Venkatesh Babu, Software Engineer, Miracle Software Systems Inc, USA by the Head of the Department Dr. N. Kannan, followed by a brief introduction about Microservices.
The session started with the speaker highlighting the current practices in the domain, particularly the Monolithic Architecture. He explained the disadvantages of monolithic architecture, and how microservices can overcome those disadvantages. He spoke in detail about the microservice based architecture, it’s characteristics and applications, and it’s advantages and disadvantages.

A feedback form was circulated, through which participants submitted their feedback, which was found to be overwhelmingly positive. The session ended with vote of thanks by Ms. R. Asha A.P/CSE. She thanked the Management, Director, Dean and HOD.
