Information Technology and Knowledge Management (ITKM)

IT&KM is responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of technology initiatives in support of both academic and administrative operations at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST).


The mission of ITKM is to Support SRMIST’s vision of emerging a world-class University by –

Deploying innovative technologies and infrastructure to support faculties and administrators by serving their constituents.

Enabling access to knowledge resources and supporting the academic community to achieve excellence in delivering high-quality education and research

Achieving paperless office by process excellence and automating all business processes.

What We Do

The ITKM department serves as the nodal center for all the IT related services, hardware and equipments, softwares and solutions for everybody across SRMIST.

Information Technology

  • System Services – End User Computing Desktop, Laptop, printer, software
  • Technology Services – Servers, Network and Security
  • Projects and Implementation – Consultancy, procurement, implementation and maintenance
  • Service Delivery – Support Desk Monday – Saturday – 8.30AM to 5.30PM

Knowledge Management

  • Account and Access management
  • Software and Licensing
  • Application Development – Business process automation
  • Productivity and Collaboration – Email, Zoom, Teams, Google Classroom,
  • Web hosting and development.

To achieve the mission and bring transparent and operational efficiency among academic and administrative departments, ITKM pursues directions from the following committee.

IT Steering Committee

Review and approve all IT requirements of SRMIST and Budget for the same.

IT Purchase Committee

Ensure the purchase process is followed and negotiate with vendors and approve the proposal to proceed with the purchase.

IT Policy & Process Committee

Review and approve the policy and business process recommended by the stakeholders for implementation.

Infra At A Glance

ITKM provides a range of facilities for students, faculty members, and others at SRMIST. These facilities include access to internet through 8Gbps shared bandwidth, top-notch IT and e-support services, which encompass email, application support, computing labs, and an IT Helpdesk.

ITKM maintains and supports the infrastructure necessary for the student information system, including email accounts, academic information, examination schedules, hostel booking and transportation, etc.
