The program started with the welcome address by WGRC convener and HoD, Department of Mathematics.
Chief Director in his Special Address said that sexual harassment is a serious problem at the workplace. Appropriate work conditions should be provided to ensure that there is no hostile environment towards women at work place.
Dean E&T in his felicitation address applauded the ICC & WGRC for conducting various activities in order to create awareness about the burning issues of womenfolk.
The chief guest Dr.Yasodha Shanmugasundaram emphasized that sexual harassment at a workplace is considered violation of women’s right to equality, life and liberty. She explained two case studies regarding sexual harassment at workplace.
Dr. Yasoda said that awareness of the rights of female employees in this regard should be created by prominently notifying the guidelines in a suitable manner. She insisted to distribute handbook of sexual harassment of women at work place to everyone.
Nearly 150 participants enthusiastically participated in this awareness program.
The program concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Dr.P.Lalitha, Asst. Professor Department of Mathematics.
