The program started with the welcome address by WGRC coordinator and HoD Department of Mathematics.
Respected Dean E&T in his felicitation address expressed his happiness for conducting such programs. He mentioned that ending violence against women is possible, but only if we act together now.
Dr. Priyamvadha in her key note address spoke on plight of women and girl children in global arena, Impact of culture on crime, Oppressive social, harmful traditional and religious practices and vocalized on various forms of violence / crimes committed against women and girl children.
Dr. Priyamvada emphasized about cyber crime against women and girl children, cyber tracking system and schemes to report these issues to the concerned authorities.
Dr. Priyamvada mentioned about polices and schemes for women and girl children – Beti Bacho Beti Padhao, Cyber crime prevention portal, One stop Centre, Fast track courts and about Indicators to measure Women’s Empowerment.
There was an interesting interactive session with the students. Nearly 150 women students enthusiastically participated in this program.
