The Department of Biomedical Engineering, SRMIST Ramapuram campus has organized a first National Level Symposium BIORGANZA 2K22 on 10th November 2022 at TRP Auditorium and various venues including Gallery Hall – II.
The program started with the invocation by Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The welcome address has been delivered by the program convener Dr. Ushus. S. Kumar (HoD/BME). Subsequently, Dr. K. Ramji (AP/BME) introduced the event BIORGANZA 2K22, different events and participation list for the symposium.
The presidential address was delivered by Dr. M. Murali Krishna, Dean (E&T). Followed by Felicitation Address by Dr. A. Saravanan (Dean-Academic), Dr. G. Prabhakaran (VP Academic) and Dr. Phani Kumar Polasi (HOD/ECE).
Mrs. P. Mareeswari introduced the guest profile to the audience and welcomed the guest to deliver the keynote address. Then, the chief guest Dr. P. ChithraLekha was honoured by a momentum by the dignitaries on the Dias. Successively, the Souvenir of the symposium was released. Afterwards, the key note address has been delivered by Chief Guest Dr. P. ChithraLekha, Senior Research Scientist, IIIT Madras Research Park, Chennai.
Then, Dr. S. Sakthivel called upon the office bearers and students volunteers to reveal the logo and honor them on stage for their extended contribution towards the conduction of symposium.
The program consists of various Technical and NonTechnical Events and was participated by around 350 students from 37 colleges in and around Tamilnadu. The event comprised of a mix of technical and non-technical events with online and on-spot registrations where a footfall of 130 students have been witnessed at the venue.
The technical events include paper presentation, where 57 abstracts were received among which 36 have been shortlisted for 2nd round of presentation. The event is split into 2 with 18 presentations in TRP Main Hall and other 18 in TRP side hall – 1. The 2nd technical event is poster presentation where similar interest was shown by the participants from different colleges and finally 19 posters were selected for presentation to be held in TRP side Hall-2. Other technical events including Quiz and Technova will be held at Block 3 403 and 402, respectively.
The symposium also comprises of non-technical events to explore the creative hunger of the participants such as Block & Tackle and Shipwreck, Channel Surfing and Adzap. The venues for the events are Block 3 401 and Gallery Hall – II, 3rd floor Library block. We also have 10 teams for Futsal to be organized at the football ground. Apart from this, an online gaming event BGMI was organised last Sunday, 6th of November wherein two teams had won.
Notably, Biorganza 2k22 is sponsored by Aditya Birla Capital Ltd., Greenstar Appliances Pvt Ltd., SRM Axis Intellects, Atheenapandian Private Limited, Guhan Constructions and Bharathi Cement.
The valedictory function of the event has been conducted at 3.30pm.The winners for different events were awarded with certificates and cash awards with the support from the Management and Sponsors. Finally the event concluded with National Anthem.
