Department of Mathematics, SRMIST, Ramapuram, Chennai, TN, India in collaboration with “ 1 Decembrie 1918 University” of Alba Iulia, Romania has organized 15 days International Virtual FDP ”Frontiers of Mathematics” from 19.05.2022 to 02.06.2022.
The purpose of this FDP was to provide a platform to discuss latest trends, techniques and innovative ideas in various fields of Mathematics and its applications. This FDP was contemplated with an aim to explore the basic dimensions of Mathematical research & outcome of this program is expected to bring about a healthy enhancement in the academic and intellectual environment.
The Inaugural Session of 15 days Virtual FDP started with the invocation song followed by Digital lighting of lamp. The Convener of the FDP welcomed the gathering and gave a comprehensive overview of 15 days International Virtual Faculty Development Program.
Dean E&T in his felicitation address said that outcome of this program is expected to bring about a healthy enhancement in the academic & intellectual environment.
The Chief Director in his Presidential address appreciated the Department of Mathematics, SRMIST Ramapuram Campus for organizing 15- Days FDP.
Prof. Daniel Breaz, Rector of “1 Decembrie 1918 University” in his Inaugural Address expressed his happiness in collaborating with Department of Mathematics, SRMIST Ramapuram. He reinforced that faculty development programs will not only promote the professional practices but also motivates the faculty to achieve competitive learning skills.
Eminent academicians from all over the world were invited as resource persons, to have a fruitful discussion and to share the knowledge among participants.

Valedictory Function
During the Valedictory Function of the FDP on 2nd June, Convener of the FDP, HoD Mathematics, presented the comprehensive report of the 15 Days FDP. Dean E&T in his felicitation address expressed his happiness for successfully conducting 15 days FDP. He appreciated the department for arranging the invited talks with eminent academicians all over the world in various fields of Mathematics.
The Director, SRM group of Institutions, Ramapuram campus, in his presidential address expressed his gratitude to the chief guest Prof. Daniel Breaz for his collaboration with SRMIST through this FDP. He mentioned that Mathematics and its creative role in science, technology and society deserves to be better known. Mathematicians should be in the forefront to bridge the gaps within the Maths community and society.
The Chief Guest of the day Prof. Daniel Breaz, the rector of “1 Decembri 1918 university” in his valedictory address expressed his heartfelt happiness about the collaboration of his University with Department of Mathematics, SRMIST, Ramapuram in organizing this FDP. He said “we have the same language – Mathematics”, and hoping for many physical FDPs in the near future.
The FDP received an overwhelming response from all over the world. The intensive exposure to the subject, thorough presentations and discussions, led by multiple experts, renewed the motivation of the participants to pursue higher productivity. It was heartening to receive positive feedback from participants, who applauded the FDP’s commitment which were insightful, informative and extremely useful. The participants appreciated, congratulated and thanked the organizers for organizing such informative sessions thereby acknowledging the success of the FDP.
15 Days long FDP program came to an end with vote of thanks followed by National Anthem.
