The Virtual Workshop on Sustainable Materials Advances and Applications was organized by the Department of Physics for Class 11, 12 & Diploma Students to create interest about the Basics science subject also about recent advances in Science and Technology. The event started with the welcome address by Dr. M. Saravanan, HOD (i/c)/Physics. He has given overview of the workshop and welcomed the gathering. The Dr. M. MURALI KRISHNA, Dean (E&T) has given Presidential address and appreciated participants for showing their interest and active participation of the events. Around 487 participants from various institutions registered and among this 241 participants are actively participated and clarified their doubts. The participants are highly motivated to explore their knowledge through this event. The eminent speakers Dr. R. Ramesh Babu Associate Professor, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu and Dr. M. SRINIVASAN Research Scietist, SSN College of Engineering, Kalavakkam – 603 110, Chennai, Tamilnadu have been given talk on Crystal Growth: An Introduction and Recent Scenario of Silicon Crystal Research Activities in India for PV Applications, respectively. The speakers highlighted the application of single crystal, various methods of crystal growth and also the solar power applications in recent scenario. The participants gave very good feedback. The resource persons thanked the management and organizers for arranging the workshop.
Finally the convener and coordinators of the event thanked the Management, Director (Ramapuram Campus), Dean (E&T), VP (Admin), VP (Academic), HoDs, Faculty members, participants and other officials for their active support for making the program to be successful.
