NATIONAL LEVEL 5 DAYS FDP IN CYBERSECURITY

With the support and initiation of Dr. N Kannan , Head of the department, CSE, the inaugural session was held by introducing bits and bytes of prominent Institute SRMIST. Welcome address and resource persons Introduction was given by Mrs.R.Sathya, AP/CSE, describing the Agenda of 5 days programme.
Day-1- Mobile Security
Topics Covered: Mobile Tracking Tools,Hacking Mobile calls,Penetrating through driver files,Device management Tools and Techniques,Handson session on Mobile apk files,Security tips & tricks.The first day was successfully ended up with participants interaction towards speakers and then giving their valuable feedback on how they found the session most interesting.Day 1 -Participants Strength 275
Day-2-General Security Attacks
The session was started with the general recap of previous day session’s glimpses,continued by the introduction of SQL Injection and its impact on the real world applications.
Topics Covered: Injection: SQL,PHP,HTML,Cross site Sctipting,CSRF,LFI,RFI,Directory Traversal attack,Data Tampering Attacks.Then the skills required to become Ethical hacker was discussed followed by Technical handson session on SQL injection. Then the session was followed by rooting towards enormous types of Malware.Day 2 -Participants Strength 280
Days 3-
Session started with the expectation from faculty members and clarification of doubts based on their exposures in security tools.
Topics Discussed : Keylogger,Ransomware,Rootkit,Trojan,Worms,Virus.Day 3 -Participants Strength 277
Day 4-Various security mechanisms were discussed from the feedback of participants.
Topics covered: Malware,Types of real time attacks,Way to protect the attacks ,Security Tools demonstration.Day 4 -Participants Strength 300
Day 5-Purely based on Interactive hands on Session. Participants were allowed to post their queries on the techniques they learnt and the resource person elaborated all the topics in well versed manner.The event had a great ending with interactive doubt clarification session. Participants were given their valuable feedback in the google form as well as live feedback was provided.Mrs. R.Sathya, AP/CSE, given a session on how to remove shortcut virus without using any specific software. Day 5 -Participants Strength 290.The session was delighted by Dr.N.Kannan, HoD/CSE, enriching the strength and quality of the FDP programme on all 5 days. He appreciated the resourse person’s technical skills and encouraged faculty Coordinators for their efforts taken to organize this wonderful session.To end up the Session, vote of thanks was give by Mrs.V.Surya, AP/CSE, thanking all the participants for their support and cooperation. Also she thanked the Resource person and HoD sir for their valuable time spent on this event.
