The Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, SRMIST, Ramapuram, Chennai, has organised International Virtual Workshop on “Mathematical Modeling of Oncolytic Virotherapy” on 24.04.2023.
Date: 24.04.2023
Time: 02.30 PM IST
Topic: Mathematical Modeling of Oncolytic Virotherapy
Resource person:
Dr. Joseph Malinzi
Faculty of Science and Engineering
Department of Mathematics
University of Eswatini,
Swaziland, South Africa
Dr. Malinzi explained the importance of viral therapy with the concepts such as reaction telegraph model, simulations for spatial distribution of the tumor density and spatial distribution of virus. He elaborated the temporal model simulations, its properties and the methodology of obtaining analytic solutions.
Dr. Malinzi put forward the existence and uniqueness of solutions of systems, construction and analysis of mathematical models in the form of ordinary and partial differential equations. The speaker made the audience know about the traditional therapies and health system tracker. He mentioned that future studies of this oncolytic virus therapy can be extended with complex mathematical models of viral spread.
More than 150 participants from all over the world had actively participated in the workshop.
