FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR FACULTIES, CIVIL PROFESSIONALS AND STUDENTSOF CIVIL ENGINEERING FROM 3rdTO 5th AUGUST, 2020
The department of Civil Engineering organized the three days Faculty
Development Programtitled ” Bridge Structures”in association withICI-Chennai Centre for faculties, civil professionals and students of civil engineering department from 3rd to 5th August. The program has around 600 registrations from faculties, civil professionals and students of various colleges.The event started with inaugural function by2:30 pm and ends by 4:00 pm. 400 members participated in the event enthusiastically.
Welcome address was given by the Dr.T.Ch.Madhavi, HOD of Civil Engineering .The gathering was then addressed by Dr.Radhakrishna G Pillai ,About ICI-Chennai Centre activities. Special address by Mr.R.Radhakrishnan,Secretary General-ICI.Inaugural Addressby Er.Vinay Gupta, President-ICI (Indian Concrete Institute), President- IIBE (Indian Institution of Bridge Engineers), CEO M/S Tandon Consultants Pvt Ltd, New Delhi.followed by presentation.

The departmentof Civil Engineering organized theAwarenesswebinar titled“Covid-19 Facts and Treatment Options”for faculties, research scholars, students of all department and common public on 06.08.2020. The program has around 277registrations from faculties, research scholars, students of various colleges and common public. The event starts by 5.00 pm and ends by 6.00 pm. 82 membersparticipated in the event enthusiastically.
Department video was played at the beginning and welcome address was given by Dr.T.Ch.Madhavi, HOD of Civil Engineering Department.Followed by Speaker Introduction byS.Vijayan, AssistantProfessor (Sr.G) of Civil Engineering Department. The Recourse person of the event Dr.ArunimaMamidi, M.D, Specialist in Infectious Diseases, Princeton, New Jersey, gives very brief and detained explanation about the current scenario in treating Covid-19. The Question and Answer session went well. Finally vote of thanks given by S.Vijayan, Assistant Professor(Sr.G) of Civil Engineering Department.

NATIONAL WEBINAR FOR DIPLOMA HOLDERS OF VARIOUS POLYTECHNIC COLLEGES, B.TECH / B.E. CIVIL ENGINEERING GRADUATES OF VARIOUS COLLEGES AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS, 11.08.2020 – 13.08.2020
The department of Civil Engineering organized by the national webinar titled
CERTIFICATION PROGRAM ON “SOFTWARE TOOLS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING” from 11.08.2020 -13.08.2020. The program has around 360 registrations from diploma holders of various polytechnic colleges, final year students of various colleges and other institutions. The event starts by 2:00 pm and ends by 4:00 pm. 135 members participated in all 3 days event enthusiastically.
Welcome address was given by the Event coordinator Mrs. F. Stella mary, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering Department. The gathering was then addressed by Dr.T.Ch.Madhavi, HOD of Civil Engineering Department followed by the speaker session by Mr.J.Jayaprakash, Technical Solution Specialist, KKM Soft Pvt.Ltd. Chennai, on the topic of “SOFTWARE TOOLS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING”.

He has explained for all 3 days with Practical session which is used for Software tools in Civil Engineering and he taught first day with basic AutoCAD drawing, Drafting and Modeling.
Second day taught about Structural Analysis software tools like STAAD.Pro and Robot Structures.
Third day, he has explained about Structural Detailing which is used for tools Tekla Structures & Advance Steel
Each day at the end of the session, participants interacted with the Resource Person Mr.J.Jayaprakash, that were highly motivated and we are really enlightened with your knowledge. Finally vote of thanks was given by Mrs. S.G. Uma, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering Department.
All 3 days sessions were highly motivated enlightened and were appreciated and also good feedbacks were given by the participants making the event as a success.
