The Department of Physics has organized “One Week Online National Level Faculty Development Programme on Advanced Computational and Experimental Research in Physics” from 20.06.2022 (Monday) to 27.06.2022 (Monday) for School Teachers, Faculties, Research Scholars & PG Students.
The FDP started with a warm welcome address by Dr.M.Saravanan, HOD(i/c), Department of Physics and also Convener of the FDP.
Vice Principal (Academics), Ramapuram Campus gave the Felicitation address. He explained about the need for computational and experimental research in physics
Respected Dean(E&T) presided over the function. Dean (E&T) outlined the significance of gathering researchers and faculties to work for the advancement of Science and Technology. Sir also stated the role of Physical Science serving industrial purposes, and also turn into decisive to determine the problems in the Physical Science. The One Week Online National Level Faculty Development Programme on Advanced Computational and Experimental Research inPhysics was inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Guest Dr. B. Venkatraman, Director, Indira gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam who gave keynote address for the first session of this FDP. Chief Guest encouraged the potential research contenders to achieve speculate in their field whilst delivering the keynote address.

role of computational in nonlinear dynamics. He explained about the methods and signifanct of computational in nonlinear dynamics. The session was moderated by Dr.K.Subramanian, Assistant Professor (Sr. G) and coordinator of the FDP.

Dr. Muthu Senthil Pandian, Research Scientist, Photovoltaic Devices Laboratory, SSN Research Centre, SSN Institution, Kalavakkam has delivered a wonderful talk on “Development of high quality Non-Linear optical (NLO) single crystals for Second Harmonic Generation Device Applications”. He has elaborated on the crystal growth by SR method and modified SR method. He explained about how to harvest the crystal. He also explained the physical property like structural properties, mechanical stability and optical imaging of crystals. This session was moderated by Dr. Jayalakshmi, Assistant Professor (S.G) and coordinator of the FDP.

Dr. Mohit Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Mody University Science and Technology, Sikar, Rajasthan has delivered a wonderful talk on “Photonic Crystal Fibers for Super Continuum Generation”. He has elaborated on principle of super continuum generation and listed various applications of photonic crystal fibers. The session was moderated by Dr.K.Subramanian, Assistant Professor (Sr. G) and coordinator of the FDP.
We received overwhelming registrations, more than 900 School Teachers, Faculties, Research Scholars & PG Students actively participated in Zoom from all over India. The participants raised questions to the speakers and discussed about the topics. All the days talks were very vibrant and participants gave very good feedback.
The valedictory session was convened and chaired by Dr.M.Saravanan, Hod (i/c),Department of Physics. Dr.M.Dhanasekar, Assistant Professor (S. G) has proposed the Vote of Thanks.
