For B.Tech First Year Students
The session began with the welcome address by the head of the department of EFL, Dr. Rema followed by an inspiring felicitation address by Vice Principal Academics who emphasised on the multiple benefits of knowing French as a foreign language. In his presidential address, the Dean of Engineering and Technology touched upon various finer aspects connected to France and the French language. The resource persons, Mr. Eric Perrotel, Attaché for Cooperation in French Language, South Zone, French Institute in India, Embassy of France in India, Chennai and Mr. Ajit Kumar, Manager Campus France presented a very comprehensive and up to date picture of the higher education scenario in France. The session also provided very precise statistics and details regarding a host of courses, domains and scholarships at the disposal of the Indian students desirous of studying in France. The session was vibrant, educative and interactive. It is important to note that students also learned considerably about France and French culture. Above all it was a first-hand experience to interact with a native speaker of the French language.
