Day 1 – Dr. Sanjay Mathur, Director of the Institute of Inorganic and Materials Chemistry, University of Cologne, Cologne, Germany delivered a talk on functional materials steering health and energy transitions which was engaging and effective
Day 2 – Dr. L. N Rao, Professor, Center for Sustainable Technologies, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India addressed the gathering on large scale Recycling of treated waste water for indirect Groundwater recharge in a semi-arid region. He said that the treated water will self-purify further when it flows through channels and percolate through the soil where the water quality is improved
Day 3 – The topic was Climate change and Extremes: Changing patterns and early warnings which was presented by Dr. Subimal Ghosh, Institute Chair Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Interdisciplinary Program in Climate Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay Powai, Mumbai. He was discussing on forecasting of floods, Designing decision tools to improve resilience etc.
Day 4 – Dr. Pranshtha Kumar TKM, Senior Engineer, NoPo Nanotechnologies Ind pvt.Ltd Bangaluru discoursed on Carbon based materials for environmental remediation and Energy Application
Day 5 – Dr. V. Ganesh, Scientist, CSIR – Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI) Karaikudi delivered a wonderful talk on Top ten problems for next 50 years on Humankind. He was lecturing on the concerned topics like Energy, water, Food, Environment, Poverty, Education etc.
It was a diversified programmes where around 120 Participants participated from various institutions. It was a cutting-edge awareness causing programme for all the participants who must have gained the knowledge on the challenges the world is facing and the solutions towards which we can work on.
