Summary of the Event:
The Department of Biomedical Engineering organized an interactive and skill based event titled SenseQuest on 11th February 2026 at Block III, 4th Floor. The event aimed to enhance students’ teamwork, communication, creativity, and
problem-solving abilities through engaging and fun-filled challenges. The event was convened by Dr. Ushus S. Kumar, Head of the Department (I/c), Biomedical Engineering, with Dr. R. Indhumathi (AP/BME) serving as the faculty co coordinator. S. Shreya (III Year) and Sai Mayu S (II Year) acted as student coordinators, while Balamurgan.R (III Year),Nitesh Kumar,M (III Year) and V.K Daswanth(II Year),Nityalakshmi.P(II Year) served as event coordinators. Students actively participated with enthusiasm, creating a lively and intellectually stimulating environment.
Concept and Design of the Event:
The event was conceptually designed to challenge participants’ sensory awareness,
communication skills, and teamwork through unconventional and creative tasks. It
focused on situations where participants had to rely on limited senses or non-verbal
communication, thereby encouraging them to think beyond traditional methods of
interaction.
The structure of the event emphasized real-time thinking, adaptability, and
coordination among team members. Each round was carefully curated to test
different aspects of cognitive and interpersonal abilities, such as trust, listening,
creativity, and interpretation.
The design also ensured inclusivity and active participation, allowing every team
member to contribute meaningfully. By integrating fun elements with skill-based
challenges, the event created a dynamic and engaging environment that promoted
both enjoyment and personal development.
Round 1: Blindfold Maze
The first round, titled Blindfold Maze, required one participant from each team to
be blindfolded and navigate through a path filled with obstacles. The participant
could not rely on vision and had to depend entirely on verbal instructions provided
by their teammates.
This round primarily focused on building trust and strengthening communication
within the team. Teammates had to provide clear, concise, and accurate
instructions, while the blindfolded participant had to listen carefully and respond
accordingly. Any miscommunication could lead to errors, making coordination
extremely important.
Participants demonstrated patience, concentration, and teamwork as they worked
together to successfully complete the task. The activity also highlighted the
importance of leadership and clarity in communication. It enhanced listening skills
and encouraged participants to remain calm and composed under pressure.
Overall, the Blindfold Maze round effectively emphasized the significance of trust,
coordination, and precise communication in achieving a shared objective.
Round 2: Sound Effects Only
The second round, Sound Effects Only, introduced a creative and unconventional
challenge where participants had to describe objects, actions, or situations using
only sound effects, without the use of words, gestures, or physical actions. The
remaining team members were required to guess the correct answer within a
specified time limit.
This round demanded a high level of creativity, imagination, and quick thinking.
Participants had to think innovatively to represent ideas through sounds, while
teammates had to interpret those sounds accurately. The challenge tested both
expression and perception, making it intellectually stimulating and entertaining.
The activity encouraged participants to break away from conventional
communication methods and explore new ways of expressing ideas. It also
improved team coordination, as members had to work together efficiently within
time constraints.
Participants showcased originality and enthusiasm throughout the round, making it
one of the most engaging segments of the event. The round successfully enhanced
creative thinking, adaptability, and confidence in non-verbal communication.
The key outcomes included:
- Enhanced teamwork and collaborative problem-solving abilities
- Improved verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Strengthened creativity, imagination, and quick thinking
- Development of trust, coordination, and leadership qualities
- Increased confidence in handling unfamiliar and challenging situations
- Better ability to interpret and respond under time constraints
The event significantly contributed to the holistic development of students by
integrating entertainment with practical skill enhancement

innovative concept and interactive execution. Students found the activities
refreshing and different from conventional academic tasks, as they required
spontaneous thinking and active involvement.

potential and think outside the box. It provided a platform for students to express
ideas in unique ways, enhancing their confidence and imaginative
abilities.Participants found the time-bound nature of the rounds exciting and
mentally stimulating. The event also promoted strong peer interaction, helping
