Semiconductor and Nanojunction Lab, Department of Physics, SRM Institute of Science and Technology Ramapuram campus, conducted a one-day hands-on training program on Semiconductor Device Characterisation by Dr. Sanju Rani– Assistant professor
The event began with an introduction to the training program’s objectives, followed by a brief overview of semiconductor device characterisation techniques.
The session was explained by Mr. V. Rajkumar, who elaborated on the working principles of the Keithley SourceMeter, includingwrite-upHands-on its operational modes and measurement capabilities in a clear and structured manner.
Participants were guided through real-time experimental measurements, enabling them to gain hands-on experience in current–voltage (I–V) characterization and related techniques. Step-by-step demonstrations were conducted to ensure proper understanding of the procedures and instrument handling.
The application aspects were discussed in detail, highlighting the importance of the SourceMeter in analyzing semiconductor materials and devices for research purposes. Interactive demonstrations enhanced the overall learning experience.
All participants actively engaged in the session, and their queries and doubts were addressed thoroughly, ensuring clarity and confidence in using the equipment.
The training program concluded successfully and proved to be highly informative and beneficial in strengthening both conceptual understanding and experimental skills of the participants.
