On March 7th, 2025, the Camogenics Photography & Film Society hosted an exciting and insightful photography event titled “Roadside Stories” – a competition that encouraged participants to narrate powerful visual stories captured during their travels. The event served as a creative outlet for photographers to explore themes of spontaneity, people, landscapes, and life on the streets.
The event received enthusiastic participation, with 17 students submitting entries. Each participant offered a unique frame of the world as seen through their lens — from vibrant roadside markets to serene country roads. The competition was not just about technical perfection but also about emotional impact and storytelling.
OPENING & SUBMISSIONS
“Roadside Stories” was conducted in an online format, with participants submitting their photographs through Google Drive. Submissions were reviewed by the Camogenics team, who evaluated the entries based on composition, creativity, relevance to the theme, and the story each photograph told.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE EVENT – WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT:
Among the diverse and captivating entries, Nishil K (RA2311027020093), a 2nd-year student from CSE BDA – B Section, stood out as the winner. His photograph beautifully captured the spirit of roadside life — a perfect balance of emotion, context, and composition that drew attention for its visual storytelling

CONCLUSION:
The Roadside Stories competition was a celebration of everyday travel moments often overlooked in the rush of life. With this event, Camogenics continues its mission of nurturing creativity and encouraging visual storytelling among students.
