The department of English and Foreign Languages, SRM Institute of Science and Technology organized a One Week Online International Faculty Development Programme entitled “Research and Publication: Prospects and Challenges” in collaboration with the MoU partner Lavendar Litearay Club, Kanyakumari, India from 9.09.2024 to 14.09.2024
The FDP brought resource persons from reputed universities in India and also from countries like Malaysia and Qatar. There was an incredible number of registrations from states all over India and also international. Each day consisted of two sessions by resource persons deliberating on different topics. The thrust areas covered in the FDP included – Choosing the topic, framing the research hypotheses, structuring the thesis, literature review, methodology, Publishing in high impact factor Journals, how to refrain from predatory and cloned journals, avoiding plagiarism and also getting global readership.
The guest speakers on all the days furnished the sessions with informative and practical strategies to be inculcated in Research and Theses writing. The enthusiastic participants interacted well in all the sessions. They clarified their apprehensions and registered their positive feedback expressing their eagerness to attend more events from our institution.
