History:
VIP Equipments India Pvt Ltd was started in 2020 by Mr.Rajesh , an alumni of SRM IST. They supply and manufacture the internal parts of transformer including casting, assembling, packaging, and testing of the parts, oil temperature monitor of transformer. Around 300 products is being supplied in a month.
Experience in the visit:
We started our journey at 8.30 AM from our college in Ramapuram and reached the company by 10.00 AM in Thirumudivakkam with our faculties.
First, we were informed about the safety guidelines to be followed inside the workplace. Then we got introduced to the staff who were going to explain the functioning of the company.
We got to know the different parts of a transformer like breather, cooling tubes, oil tank, oil level indicator etc.
Then we moved to the casting unit where the casting of transformer parts are done.
It is made by reducing iron ore in a blast furnace. The liquid iron is cast, or poured and hardened, into crude ingots called pigs, and the pigs are subsequently remelted along with scrap and alloying elements in cupola furnaces and recast into molds for producing variety of parts.
Phosphorus and sulfur may be burnt out of the molten iron, but this also burns out the carbon, which must be replaced.
Depending on the application, carbon and silicon content are adjusted to the desired levels, which may be 2-3% and 1-3% respectively. If desired, other elements are then added to the melt before the final form is produced by casting.
After casting, they are molded into different shapes according to the dimensions and measurements given by the tender.
ASSEMBLING UNIT
After they get assembled the products they test each product for working properly or not with the testing units so they get to know if any error in the products so they can adjust it, Once they adjusted it they ready to supply the products.
Finally , we had a explanation come question and answer session in which we were told about the use of oil monitoring unit and parts of transformers.
We thanked them for spending time with us and sharing such useful knowledge.
