EVENT REPORT:
The Department of English and Foreign Languages, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram conducted a Skill Development Programme on “Public Speaking” on January 10, 2025, through online mode at 11a.m. The event aimed at enhancing communication skills and building confidence among the participants. The head of the Department of EFL, delivered the Welcome address . The resource person Dr. Medha Bhattacharya, is a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Department of Communication and Journalism at the University of Maine, USA, a distinguished expert in communication and public speaking. Dr.Medha’s session was comprehensive and interactive, focusing on essential techniques such as crafting impactful speeches, overcoming stage fear, effective use of voice modulation, and mastering non-verbal communication. The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A session, during which the resource person addressed specific challenges faced by the participants in public speaking. Her practical tips and motivational approach were highly appreciated.
