SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized a Poster and Project Presentation event on October 17-18, 2024,
12.30 P.m. to 2.00 P.m. at Block III, third floor, Electronics Lab. This event aimed to provide students an opportunity to showcase their understanding, creativity, and application of concepts in the field of computer architecture. It also allowed them to enhance their technical and communication skills through project-based learning.
The event began with an introduction by Dr. R. Vani, Professor, who addressed the gathering and set the tone for the insightful session. There are 145 ECE students taking part, and they are displaying 45 posters and 27 projects. The event began on October 17, 2024, with a poster presentation for second year ECE students on the subject of computer architecture. Dr. Ramya G, Dr. Shunmugathammal, Dr. Thangam and Dr. R.Karthiga examine and approve the posters. In addition, the event had been concluded with a project presentation on October 18, 2024.The judges chose the winners for the Best Project and Poster awards after offering insightful commentary.
The sessions were highly interactive, with ECE students actively participating and asking questions about various posters and projects. The sessions concluded with presenting Prizes to winners and vote of thanks by Dr. G. Ramya
OUTCOMES OF THE PROGRAM:
- To encourage students to explore key concepts of computer architecture.
- To promote teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation through practical projects.
- To improve technical communication through poster presentations.
- To foster a spirit of healthy competition among students.
- Poster Presentation: Explained theoretical and applied aspects of computer architecture, including CPU design, memory hierarchy, cache systems, and instruction sets.
- Project Presentation: Demonstrated practical implementations of topics like RISC vs. CISC processors, microcontroller applications, pipelining techniques, etc.
