The Department of English and Other Foreign Languages of SRMIST Ramapuram organised an Expert Talk for the first Year B-Tech French students (CSE) titled ‘Opportunities for Higher Studies in France’. The session began with the welcome address by the Head (i/c) of the Department of English and other Foreign Languages, Dr. K. Nagamani. The resource person, Ms. Shruthi Miriam Joseph, Co-Manager Campus France, French Institute in India, Embassy of France in India, Chennai presented a very comprehensive and up to date picture of the higher education scenario in France. The session also provided very precise statistics and details regarding a host of courses, domains and scholarships at the disposal of the Indian students desirous of studying in France. The presentation was vibrant, educative and interactive. It is important to note that students also learned considerably about France and French culture. Above all it was a very well thought out and engaging talk tha twill certainly play an important role in the students’ lives while making a responsible and well informed choice vis-à-vis prospects of higher education in France.
