The Department of EEE, SRMIST, Ramapuram campus has successfully conducted an Online Workshop on Virtual Conduct of Electrical Machines Laboratory on 26.06.20 and 27.06.20 at 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM. for the Diploma, Engineering students and Faculties. The program started as on time and there were nearly 500 Participants from almost all the parts of the country.

DAY: 1
On the first day (26.05.20) of the event Dr.K.N.Srinivas HOD/EEE/V.P (Acad) welcomed all the participants and gave a motivational and encouraging talk about SRM Ramapuram campus and the facilities available in the EEE department. He also elaborated the need of conducting lab experiments virtually and gave overview of the experiments that is to be conducted.
Followed by Dr.S.Gayathri Monika professor EEE department enlightens the participants about the
- Salient features of Virtual Electrical lab and the various electrical labs available in open source.
- Compared the Physical lab and the virtual labs and discussed about the merits and demerits of both of the labs.

Later she gave hands on training for the participants to familiarize the virtual lab components and how to make connections between terminals and she also conducted the open circuit test on DC shunt generator.
Followed by Mr.J.DilliSrinivasan.A.P,EEE conducted the Load test on DC shunt Generator. About 500 Participants of Diploma Students, Engineering students and faculties from various engineeing colleges attended the workshop.

The questions raised by the participants were all cleared by both of the presenters at the end of the session. The feedback received from the participants was encouraging.
DAY: 2
The day 2 Session (27.06.20) started sharply by 2.00 PM and it started with the Brisk speech from Dr.K.N.Srinivas HOD/EEE, VP (ACAD). He appreciated all the participants who participated the second day of the Workshop. He gave a valuable feedback and suggestions about conducting virtual labs for the upcoming semester and he also explained about load test on DC Motor and the two different methods of loading the DC Motor.
Mr.K.Arulvendhan,AP/EEE started the session by explaining the basics of motor and important equations of motor. The remaining experiments of Day 1 session, i.e Load Test on Separately excited DC motor, Speed control of DC Shunt Motor (Armature resistance and Flux control) and Speed control of Slip ring induction Motor were also conducted.

Mr.J.Dillisrinivasan AP/EEE conducted the Open Circuit and Short Circuit Test on single phase transformer and he also explained about the importance of the experiment and he also explained about how to determine the Transformer equivalent circuit parameters. At the end of the session the doubts of the participants were cleared by Dr.S.Gayathri Monicka Prof/EEE and Mr.J.Dillisrinivasan AP/EEE.

The participants were also allowed to give their feedbacks about the session. Most participants appreciated the organisers for conducting such a program and they also expressed their interest to participate in the upcoming workshops on Virtual lab and the program was successfully completed with the valediction speech from Dr.S.Gayathri Monicka in which she thanked the Management SRMIST,RAMAPURAM CAMPUS, Director, Dean and HOD/EEE for their support and suggestions.
