The Department of English and Foreign Languages at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (Chennai Ramapuram) successfully organized a one-day seminar on “Navigating Global Admissions” on 21st March 2025. The event aimed to provide III-year B.Tech students with valuable insights into the complexities of international university admissions. The session was conducted by Mr. Stanley Simon, a Program Manager and Admission Expert at Jamboree Education Pvt. Ltd., who has helped numerous students secure placements at prestigious institutions worldwide. His expertise covered various aspects of overseas education, including university selection, application strategies, and scholarship opportunities.
During the session, Mr. Simon elaborated on the essential components of a successful University application, such as Statement of Purpose (SOPs), Letters of Recommendation (LORs), and standardized test scores (GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS). He also highlighted the importance of extracurricular achievements, internships, and leadership roles in strengthening an applicant’s profile. A significant part of the discussion focused on financial aid, outlining scholarship opportunities and strategies for securing funding. Furthermore, he provided practical insights into the visa application process and post-admission formalities, helping students navigate the transition from admission to enrollment seamlessly. The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students actively engaged with the speaker, seeking personalized guidance on university choices, funding options, and career prospects. The event was well-received, with participants expressing appreciation for the valuable information and practical strategies shared. Under the guidance of Dr. V. Rema HOD/EFL and Ms. K. Srividya Lakshmi, Asst Professor (Sr. G.), the seminar was executed seamlessly, providing students with the confidence and knowledge to pursue their academic aspirations abroad.
