NATIONAL SEMINAR ON APPLICATIONS OF VIBRATIONAL SPECTROSCOPY
The Department of Physics has organized “NATIONAL SEMINAR ON APPLICATIONS OF VIBRATIONAL SPECTROSCOPY” on 29-08-2020 (Saturday) for Faculties, Research Scholars and Students.
The seminar started with a warm welcome address by Dr. L. Sudha, Professor and Head, Department of Physics and also Convener of the Seminar.
In the first session, Dr. J. R. Tonannavar, Professor, Department of Physics, Karnatak University, Dharwad has delivered lecture on the topic “Raman Effect: Principles, Spectroscopy and Applications”. He discussed about basics of Raman Effect Principles and applications in vibrational Spectroscopy. The session was moderated by Dr.A. Nataraj, Assistant Professor (S. G) and coordinator of the Seminar.
In the second session, Dr. Poonam Tandon Professor & Head, Department of Physics, Lucknow University, Lucknow delivered lecture on the topic “Crystal Engineering: Designing and Development of New Solid Forms of Drugs (Combined Experimental and Theoretical Approach)”. she discussed elaborately about design and development of new solid forms of drugs for experimental applications. This session was moderated by Dr.M.Saravanan, Assistant Professor (S. G) and coordinator of the seminar.
We received overwhelming registrations, 201 Faculties, Research Scholars, UG & PG students actively participated in google meet from all over India. The participants raised questions to the speakers and discussed about the topics. The sessions were very vibrant and participants gave very good feedback.
The session was convened and chaired by Dr. L. Sudha, Hod/Physics. Dr.M.Saravanan, Assistant Professor (S. G) has proposed the Vote of Thanks.
