Summary of the Event:
BioBazar, an innovative biomedical business and problem-solving challenge organized by
the BioInnovision Club, provided participants with a dynamic platform to blend healthcare
knowledge with entrepreneurial strategy. The event, held on 21 January 2025 at Room 402,
4th Floor, Block III, transformed the venue into a vibrant “Bio-Business Arena,” where
students engaged in competitive bidding, creative engineering, and persuasive pitching to
solve real-world biomedical challenges.
The session commenced with a formal introduction by the event coordinators, who
highlighted the importance of innovation, strategic thinking, and effective communication in
the evolving healthcare and biomedical engineering landscape. Participants, working in
teams, were briefed on the rules, scoring criteria, and the structure of the two-round
competition before entering the high-energy bidding phase.
The first round, Problem Auction, challenged teams to strategically use their allotted
“BioCoins” to bid on biomedical problem statements. Each team had to carefully evaluate the
complexity, feasibility, and potential impact of the challenges before securing a problem to
solve. This round emphasized analytical thinking, prioritization, and collaborative decision-
making under time constraints.
The second round, Pitch Bazaar, required teams to present their engineered solutions in a
concise and compelling three-minute pitch. Participants showcased the technical soundness,
creativity, and real-world applicability of their ideas while engaging the judges and audience
through confident communication and structured presentation.
Judging was based on innovation, feasibility, clarity, and the effectiveness of the pitch. The
atmosphere remained competitive yet collaborative, as teams refined their strategies and
supported one another throughout the process. Faculty coordinators Ms. P. Padmapriya
(AP/BME) and Dr. Shelishiyah. R (AP/BME) commended the participants for their
enthusiasm, business acumen, and strong integration of biomedical principles with
entrepreneurial thinking, emphasizing the value of such platforms in preparing students for
industry and research-oriented roles.
The event concluded with the announcement of winners by the Dr. Ushus. S. Kumar
(HOD/I.C), recognizing the teams that demonstrated exceptional innovation, strategic
planning, and presentation skills. Certificates were distributed to both winners and
participants, marking the successful completion of an intellectually stimulating and
professionally enriching experience that truly reflected the spirit of “Where Healthcare Meets
High-Stakes Strategy.”
Outcome of the Event:
The MindSprint event proved to be an effective learning experience that combined
biomedical knowledge with logical reasoning and rapid decision-making. The key takeaways included:
● Improved understanding of biomedical concepts through interactive and problem-
based learning
● Enhanced logical thinking, observation skills, and quick decision-making ability
● Development of teamwork, coordination, and communication under time constraints
● Encouragement of active learning through gamified and competitive formats
The event enabled participants to apply theoretical biomedical knowledge in a fast-paced,
