INAUGURATION CEREMONY
The Inauguration Ceremony was conducted in the presence of Dr.M.Sakthi Ganesh, Dean E&T, Dr.Sree Rathna Lakshmi, H.O.D /ECE, Dr.Subashini VP Academics , Dr.Roopa VP Research, Resource persons Dr. M. Anil Kumar Associate Professor & Dr. K. S. Giridharan Professor, Department of Rural and Entrepreneurship Development, NITTTR Chennai.
The session started with a Welcome address by Dr.Sree Rathna Lakshmi, H.O.D /ECE followed by the felicitation of the Resource persons, Lighting of kuthu vellakku, Tamil Thai valthu. After which we had thoughtful words from Dr.M.Sakthi Ganesh, Dean E&T. Finally the session concluded with an Introduction of the Resource persons by Dr Jacintha.V AP/ECE.



Day 1: 26.12.2024

Dr.K.S.Giridharan, Professor and Head, Rural and Entrepreneurship Development, NITTTR Chennai
Dr. K. S. Giridharan is a Professor of Rural and Entrepreneurship Development at the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), with nearly 22 years of experience. Dr. Giridharan is dedicated to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development in rural areas, focusing on empowering communities and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship among aspiring professionals.
The speakers covered the topics related to Teaching Learning Process. He explained the 4 methods of Teaching and Learning:
- Known to Unknown
- Unknown to known
- Simple to complex
- Complex to Simple
The Speaker explained in depth on these 4 methods with Case Study. Participants engaged interactively and gained knowledge from this session.



Day 1: 26.12.2024

Dr Anil Kumar, Associate Professor, Rural and Entrepreneurship Development, NITTTR Chennai.
Dr. M. Anil Kumar is an Associate Professor at NITTTR, Chennai.
The Speaker gave a lecture on the topic Instructional Objectives, Outcome Vs Objectives. Instructional Objectives refers to the overall approaches or approaches used by teachers to convey information and facilitate learning. These methods encompass broader categories of instructional techniques and approaches that guide the way teachers deliver content to students. Lecture, Discussion, Hands-on-activities, cooperative learning, Problem-Based Learning, Learning, Flipped Classroom, demonstration, debate.

Day 2: 27.12.2024
Time: 9.00 pm to 4:00 pm
Dr. G. Selvakumar, Professor in the department of Rural and Entrepreneurship development of NITTTR Chennai.
The speaker spoke on the topic “Instructional Methods”.
Basic Teaching Strategies
Lectures: a teacher presenting information orally and students learning through listening.
Reading: one of the basic ways of learning information through textbooks, periodicals, Internet articles, and other researched materials.
Discussion: help students explore options and ideas and develop key communication skills. They often begin with a stimulating question or problem based on a learning objective. Students can draw on their own knowledge and experiences.
Demonstration: are the best way to teach a process when procedures are difficult to explain, or visual cues are important.



Day 3: 28.12.2024
Time: 9.00 pm to 4:00 pm
Dr. P. Jakulin Divya Mary is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Rural and Entrepreneurship Development, NITTTR, Chennai.
The Speakers session was on “Technology Enabled learning”.
She elaborated on the various tools available for teaching and innovative methods of assessment such as
- Kahoot tool
- Plickers
- Socrative
- Answer garden
- Proproof
- Mentimeter
- Padlet
- Quiziz
She had also conducted quiz for the faculties and her session was very lively and interactive.



DAY 4: 30.12.24
Time: 9.00 pm to 4:00 pm
Participants were made to take class for 10 minutes and their recorded lectures were replayed at once. This was done to enable the participants to understand their level of teaching and the resource persons highlighted the participant’s strengths & weakness. The participants Micro – level of flaws in teaching were evaluated.



DAY 5: 31.12.24
Time: 9.00 pm to 1:00 pm
Participants were made to take class for 10 minutes and their recorded lectures were replayed at once. This was done to enable the participants to understand their level of teaching and the resource persons highlighted the participant’s strengths & weakness. The participants Micro – level of flaws in teaching were evaluated



DAY 5: 31.12.24
Time: 2.00 pm to 1:00 pm
VALEDICTORY NOTE
The 5 Day Faculty Development Programme on Micro – Teaching Evaluation from *26.12.24 to 31.12.24 for SRM faculties of various departments, concluded with a Valedictory Function at 2:30pm in the presence of Dr.M.Shakti Ganesh, Dean E&T, Dr Sree Rathna Lakshmi, HOD ECE, Dr.Anil Kumar, Associate Professor, NITTR Chennai & Faculties (Participants).It was very effective as it had eminent speakers from NITTTR Chennai. The Speakers rendered valuable information on Teaching Process. The participants benefitted as their recorded lectures were evaluated by the Resource Persons from NITTTR who brought out their strengths and areas for improvement.
