Welcome to IQAC

Our work at Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is strategic in nature and we see ourselves as facilitators of quality assurance in academic activities through Accreditation / Ranking / Rating / Approval processes. We consider this far beyond just policy mandated work. We are guided by Our Founder – Chancellor Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar’s Vision to stay ahead and bring about meaningful continuous improvements so ultimately our students, scholars and faculty members benefit. We are the single point contact for all things connected to regulations and disclosures as mandated by the statutory authorities. We welcome you to our IQAC page and encourage you to get to know about the various quality and performance oriented initiatives at SRMIST.

IQAC- Facilitator of Academic Quality (Proposed)

SRM Institute of Science and Technology, (formerly SRM University) has been accredited with the highest grade A++ in its 4th Cycle by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) for the period 16.06.2024 – 15.06.2031 (7 years). It is another feather on SRMIST’s cap as it prides over being awarded the highest grade for three consecutive cycles dating back to 2013.

The IQAC at SRMIST has been consistently and actively involved in quality sustenance and enhancement activities. It is a participative cell that works on evolving strategies to remove deficiencies, stay receptive to changes and enhance quality, thus channelizing the efforts of the stakeholders at SRMIST towards achieving holistic academic excellence, generating desired educational outcomes and delivering on best student-life experiences.

SRMIST’s Vice Chancellor keeps a close track and extends the necessary support to IQAC. 

The Dean manages IQAC’s operations through a 13-member staff team of dedicated staff, extended teams and committees who handle the coordination, compilation, presentation of data.

The IQAC Committee comprising of about 20 Members handle the policy making role and assists the Dean, IQAC.  

The Functional Committee comprising of 8 members and IQAC Coordinators team comprising of 31 members ensure IQAC is able to liaise with wide ranging stakeholder group.

The process is confidential except in a condition where disclosure is necessary to protect you or another person or abide by the institute policy.

19 Grievance Redressal cell Chief Convener Member To have a healthy working atmosphere amongst staff, students and parents. This cell should help the staff students and. parents to record ‘ their complaints and solve their problems related to academic, resources and personal grievances. Complain boxes can be installed.
20 Class Coordinator All Department Class In charges To help students in their pursuit of knowledge. a. To display the session plan and portion for Class Test I on the respective Notice Board/College Website. b. To guide the students about rules of attendance ( general) , Industrial Visits, sports, medical leave etc. c. Address students’ queries. d. Meeting the parents of students, especially defaulters. e. To inform the HOD about making alternate arrangement for lectures and practical’s when a faculty is absent. f. To coordinate with the Attendance Committee of the department to update attendance in case of medical leave, sports leave etc. g. Collect information regarding weaker students* from the subject teachers and arrange remedial classes, counseling sessions in consultation with the HOD. h. Identify good students and motivate them to excel. i. Update data regarding students’ achievements in academics, sports, extra curricular activities etc. j. Any other duty the Principal may assign
21 Literary Committee a. To conduct competitions for literary events like debates, elocutions and so on within the college. b. To display notices regarding inter and intra literary events. To encourage students to attend literary events outside college.
22 Library committee (LC) Chief Coordinators Member Library Committee (LC) should discuss about the improvement of the library and prepare a proposal (department wise) for the requirements to the library like textbooks, reference books, journals, magazines and any other electronic equipment pertaining to the subjects, before the commencement of academic year / semester. From each department a faculty is nominated for the advisory committee. The committee functions as a bridge between students and staff with library. Any urgent requirement of books for the students/staff for teaching, research and development are procured.

Duties and Responsibilities of Lab Assistants

1.The Lab. Assistants are required to assist the respective Lab In-Charge for smooth functioning of the

2.Lab Assistants     shall    be     available    for          maintenance and      care  of resources/

services of the institute.

3.All the Assistants, in coordination with the respective Lab In-Charge, are required to report matters, like maintenance/repairing, theft, damage etc.  within the respective labs, to the HOD.

4.Lab Assistants in coordination with Lab In-charge should display

(i)List of Equipments/software with cost

(ii)List of Experiments

(iii) Lab Time Table

(iv) Names of Lab In-charge / Lab Assistants etc. on the Lab Notice board.

5.Any other assignments as given by HOD/Principal.

NBA and NAAC Pre-Qualification: Ensure that non-accredited departments complete the necessary NBA and NAAC pre-qualification processes annually and notify the administration when a department qualifies for accreditation.

Continuous Monitoring for NAAC Compliance: Regularly assess and ensure that academic and administrative processes meet NAAC criteria for quality assurance, and facilitate improvements based on feedback and evaluations for better accreditation outcomes.
