The department of Mathematics, SRMIST, Ramapuram has organized an Expert Talk on “Yoga for Humanity” as part of international yoga day on 21.06.2023.

Session was started with welcome address by Dr. Shakeela Satish, HOD, Department of Mathematics, SRM IST, Ramapuram. She explained the objective of the session as to spread the awareness of holistic approach of yoga.
Dr. Yogananth Andiappan started the session with importance of Yogic therapy, Yogic secrets, Yogic discipline and Yogic practise. He explained how Yoga unites people across the culture, religion and geographical boundaries.
Dr. Yoganand explained about his yogic work for underprivileged people, cancer patients, and students under depression. He also introduced wide scope of Yoga in healing diseases.
He described about the Yoga therapeutic procedures like meditation and suryanamaskar. In addition, he elaborated the uses of few asanas with live demonstration.
Nearly 100 participants attended the lecture and actively took part in the interactive session.
