Every year, International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8, across the world. It’s a day when women are recognised and celebrated for playing various roles in different spheres of life.
Internal Complaints Committee & Women’s grievances and Redressal cell, SRMIST, Ramapuram has celebrated womens day on 8th March 2022 Celebration started with planting of trees by the chief guest Dr. Shobhana Vignesh, Vocalist, founder & CEO, Arts Central, chennai and guest of honour, our alumni, Ms Saraswati S, Managing director, National steel industries , Chennai.
Program at TRP auditorium started with invocation and lighting of Kuthuvilakku. Convener, Dr. Shakeela Sathish welcomed the gathering.
Chief Director, SRM institutions, Ramapuram & Trichy campuses in his presidential address mentioned that for many people, the role of women is limited to household chores only. However, this needs to change as women deserve equal freedom and opportunities in everything like men.
Dean E&T in his falicitation said that , on International Women’s Day, everyone should ac- knowledge the worth and significance of women in their lives, and their tremendous contribution towards society as well.
Ms. Saraswathi S, our alumni and guest of honour highlighted the contributions made by SR- MIST Ramapuram, in achieving her dream. She encouraged the girl students to reach their highest potential by utilizing opportunities offered to them.
The chief guest of the program Dr. Shobhana Vignesh emphasized that, International Women’s Day is all about feeling self-worth and achieving the goals as per the potential. Besides that, women should gather the courage to cross all the hurdles in all the spheres of life to make a tremendous improvement.
Several girl students. gave their feedback about the opportunities & encouragement, safety & security the campus offers, placement training and other salient features of our campus.
A video, highlighting the activities organised by SWEET ( SRM Womens Entrepreneurship & Empowerment Training) was displayed to the audience.
The prizes were distributed by the chief guest to the winners of various events organised by Campus life as part of women’s day. Program concluded with the National anthem.
