Every year, International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8, across the world. It’s a day when women are recognized and celebrated for playing various roles in different spheres of life.

Program at TRP auditorium started with invocation and lighting of Kuthuvilakku. Convener,
Dr. Shakeela Sathish welcomed the gathering.
Dean E& T in his falicitation said that , on International Women’s Day, everyone should acknowledge the worth and significance of women in their lives, and their tremendous contribution towards society as well.
The Guest of honour Ms. Ramya George emphasized on women empowerment and conveyed the differences on equality and equity. She said that women need to step out of their comfort zone and break the barrier that could be perceived as ignorance or complacence.
The chief guest Tmt. V. Vanitha, ADGP, spoke on the necessity of women to be empowered , in the true sense of the term. Freedom doesn’t mean just fighting against the rights of men. Rather it depends on the confidence and assertiveness in decision making, to live and fight for the right cause. Empowerment does not come easy and it is a long process of evolving with the help ardent passion and perseverance, coming out of the comfort zone. The universal theme of women’s day being Digit All, means using technology for the right purpose at the right time, being aware of it’s pitfalls and staying away from it. The prizes were distributed by the chief guest to the winners of various events organised as part of women’s day. Program concluded with the National anthem
