Participants: Second year students from Sections AIML,BDA,IOT,A,B,C- CSE Department (E&T)
The guest lecture held on 2nd March from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm gave a deep insight to ‘Test automation and data analytics’. The interactive session focused on effective communication and participation and involvement of students in the session so that the agenda of the whole lecture is reached out to the students effectively.
The speaker gave an extremely insightful talk on the importance of test automation and data analytics and tools to explore these areas .The main purpose of this is to simplify debugging for developers , increase the processing quality and scale up the software’s efficiency . He shared his profound knowledge about log automation testing. He built his lecture on the basis of ELK-(elastic stack) that has three main open source operands namely logicstash elastic search and kibana summarizing E L K.Elasticsearch is a search and analytics engine , Logstash is a server‑side data processing pipeline that ingests data from multiple sources simultaneously, transforms it, and then sends it to a “stash” like Elasticsearch. Kibana lets users visualize data with charts and graphs. Therefore explained the process pipeline of automated testing . He summarised the key log management requirements and put forth an intensive session on handling logs , log analysis and even on log queuing ( message queuing ) using RabbitMQ and other query languages for loganalysis. . The students thoroughly enjoyed and gained ample awareness by the end of the session.
The platform was open for questions at the end of the session and the guest effortlessly answered all the queries. The students also met the guest speaker personally and gained about test automation and data analytics.
