SUMMARY OF THE EVENT
An alumni guest lecture titled “From Processor Modelling to RTL: Studying Nano Electronic Systems at TU Dresden” was successfully organized with the objective of exposing students to advanced research and academic opportunities in Nano Electronic systems and processor design. The session was delivered by Mr. Jaswanth, an alumnus of the institution, who completed his M.S. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from TU Dresden, Germany, belonging to the2020–2024 batch, and is currently serving as a Project Lead.
Dr. Sree Rathna Lakshmi, HOD/Professor, began the session with a welcome address.
During the session, the speaker provided a comprehensive overview of the academic and research ecosystem at TU Dresden, highlighting its strong focus on Nano Electronics, VLSI design, and processor architecture. He explained the complete design flow starting from high-level processor modelling to Register Transfer Level (RTL) implementation, emphasizing how theoretical concepts are translated into practical hardware designs. The talk also covered modern design methodologies, simulation techniques, and verification strategies used in advanced semiconductor research.
Mr. Jaswanth shared valuable insights into pursuing higher studies in Germany, including the coursework structure, research opportunities, and the importance of hands-on project work. He also discussed the role of interdisciplinary learning, collaboration with industry, and exposure to state-of-the-art laboratories at TU Dresden. His personal academic journey and transition into a leadership role inspired students to explore research-oriented careers and global education pathways.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, where students actively engaged with queries related to Nano Electronic systems, career prospects, internships, and project selection strategies. Overall, the alumni interaction was highly informative and motivating, strengthening the connection between alumni and current students while providing clear direction for aspiring researchers and postgraduate applicants. Dr. P. Ramani, Assistant Professor, delivered the vote of thanks.
OUTCOMES OF THE PROGRAM
Students gained a clear understanding of the processor design flow from modelling to RTL implementation. The session enhanced awareness of Nano Electronic systems and advanced VLSI research areas. The talk motivated students to pursue research-oriented projects and international academic careers.
