To spread awareness about mental health issues and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health, the Department of Mathematics, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, Chennai, India in association with Campus life organised an expert talk on the topic MENTAL HEALTH, A UNIVERSAL HUMAN RIGHT as part of world mental health day.

Dr. Smitha started the session by emphasizing the importance of mental health. She said that mental health is an essential and universal human right that plays a significant role in individuals’ well-being and society’s overall development. To uphold this right, it is imperative for governments, organizations, and communities to work together to reduce stigma, improve access to services, and prioritize mental health on a global scale. By doing so, we can ensure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the highest attainable standard of mental health and well-being.
Nearly 100 participants attended the session. They participated actively in the question answer session.
