Participants:1st year and 2nd year EEE students.
Essay Writing contest was conducted on 23rd February 2024 in Admin block 503, SRMIST, Ramapuram, Chennai. The global shift towards sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation is more imperative than ever. In light of this, the department of EEE organized a technical essay writing competition on the topic, “Electrification of Transportation: Challenges and Opportunities” for the I and II year students of EEE. This competition aims to engage students in a thoughtful exploration of the challenges and opportunities associated with the electrification of transportation.
Objectives
- To encourage participants to critically analyze the current state of electrification in transportation.
- To promote awareness and understanding of the challenges hindering the widespread adoption of electrified transportation.
- To explore potential opportunities and solutions for a sustainable and efficient electrified transportation system.

Program Structure and Activities
Welcome address
Dr K.N.Srinivas, Prof and HOD, Department of EEE, SRMIST (E&T), Ramapuram campus welcomed the participants to the competition. He shared the objective and expected outcome of the competition and also shared valuable insights to about electric vehicles. He also instructed that this idea proposed by respected Dean (E&T), SRM Ramapuram campus and informed it will be a series of events. The coordinators Dr M Karthikeyan, Dr S R Sitaaraman were present.

Outcomes of the Competition
- Enhanced writing Skills: Participants self-explored their writing skills on a technical topic.
