SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a Webinar on “Emerging Trends and Career Opportunities in Core Electronics & Communication Engineering” for the benefit of III-year ECE students on 26th August 2025 through the Google Meet platform. The session was delivered by Ms. Abarajitha Mohan, University Rank Holder from SRM Institute of Science and Technology with an outstanding CGPA of 9.7 in Electronics and Computer Engineering. She is currently working as a Project Management Trainee at Sanmina Corporation, where she has gained significant industry exposure through projects such as building an RMA Dashboard, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), and exploring augmented reality for automating work instructions. Her academic and professional journey showcased how classroom learning can be effectively applied to real-world industry challenges.
Ms. Abarajitha Mohan has also presented her research paper “Digital Bridge Technology – BCI for Paralyzed Patients” at the ICO-CS23 Conference at NIT Pondicherry, which is soon to be published. In addition, she has worked on projects such as Object Detection in Satellite Images using YOLO and an Anomaly Detection Framework for CCTV Footage, reflecting her strong interest in integrating Electronics with AI/ML, Data Analytics, and Emerging Technologies to develop innovative solutions. During the webinar, she emphasized the growing demand for skilled Electronics Engineers across industries and elaborated on the diverse career opportunities available in Embedded Systems, Telecommunications, VLSI Design, RF Engineering, Power Electronics, Control Systems, and Analog & Digital Design Engineering. She also highlighted the importance of mastering embedded programming languages and staying updated with industry trends.
The interactive session provided students with meaningful insights into career planning, industry expectations, and skill development, motivating them to pursue excellence with consistency, clarity, and curiosity. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Jacintha.V, who appreciated the valuable contributions of the resource person and acknowledged the enthusiastic participation of the students.
