This is to inform you that the department of Electronics and Communication, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram Campus, conducted a National level Technical Symposium, ELECXA’20 on 19thFebruary, 2020.
The event started with the inaugural ceremony at 9:00am in the TRP auditorium. Honourable chief guest Dr. Sainarayanan Gopalakrishnan, Respected Dean Dr. G.Selvakumar, Vice Principal Academics Dr.K.N.Srinivas, Head of the Department Dr. Phani Kumar Polasi and faculty coordinators Dr.D.Manoj Kumar, Mr.Veera Amudhan and Mrs. Annapoorani graced the event with their presence. The ceremony started the invocation song, followed by the lighting of kuthuvilakku. The inaugural address was given by the head of the department followed by the briefing of symposium by student vice president. Respected Dean (E&T) delivered the presidential address and the honourable chief guest enlightened the audience with his insight on Image Processing, Machine Learning and Deep Learning. With the onset of the say, the department magazine REBOT was also released.
ELECXA’20 saw a fusion of 18 events in three categories: Technical events, Non-Technical events and on-spot events. The technical events were: Paper presentation, Poster Presentation, Circuit Debugging, Minor Project, Workshop and Robo Racing. ELECXA collaborated with AICRA to conduct a workshop on Autonomous Robotics, certified by Digital India, for which the entries received were more than 100. The submissions received for paper presentation were over 160, out of which 40 were selected. The non-technical events were: Short Film-making, Futsal, Super over, Minute to Frame, Defcon One(Gaming), Block and Tackle, Click for a change and comic-con. The on-spot events were Eat-a-thon, Fandom quiz, Shutter surprise and Adzap.
The responses received for all the events have been overwhelming. The event saw 600+ participantstaking part with great enthusiasm. Lunch was provided for all participants. All the events were completed by 3pm.
The Valedictory function started by 3:15pm. The function had the presence of our honourable chief guests Mr. Rajeswaran, Mr.Eniyan, Mr. Raghuram, Ms.Smruthi Venkat, Ms. Shali Nivekas and Ms.Renuka Bathula, Respected head of the department Dr.Phani Kumar Polasi and the faculty coordinators Dr.D.Manoj Kumar, Mr.Veera Amudhan and Mrs. Annapoorani. Participants from various institutions and faculty members graced the event with their presence. Prizes were distributed to the winners by the chief guests. The chief guests enlightened the crowd with their talented performances. This was followed by the release of the teaser of the short film produced by Mr. Rajeswaran. To conclude the ceremony, the Vote of thanks was delivered by the student Treasurer of ELECXA’20 followed by the National Anthem. The event was a remarkable success and the participants took back a lot of learning.
