From the 17th September, 2019 the three days entrepreneurship awareness camp was held in the TRP auditorium of SRMIST, Ramapuram. The National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India has appointed Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) as its National Implementing & Monitoring Agency (NIMAT) for the Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp. The camp’s general objective was explained in the inauguration program by the Dean (E&T), the Director General, Chief guest Dr.Raj gupta,Viceprincipal Academic,Vice principal Admin, Head of Electrical and Communication Engineering, Head of civil engineering.
On the 17th September, the first day of the camp started with an address by the Dean Dr. G.Selvakumar which was very interactive and informative. He inspired the young minds by explaining the Entrepreneurship Awareness and scenarios faced by the present entrepreneurs at their early stage of their career.


This was followed by the session conducted by Mr. Hesbur Rahman, chief manager- Lead bank. He explained the financial aspects and management of budgets, support for finances from the government organizations and banks.
On the 18th September,the second day of the camp started with an address by the young entrepreneur Mr.Rajiv Ranjan. He spoke about his experiences and obstacles he faced in designing his career. He also inspired the lot with the skill set he possesses. He mentioned few useful tips that comes in handy to young entrepreneurs and talked about his secrets of success.


After the first session the students were taken to the MSME Guindy ,Chennai. The students had an interactive session before the site visit, where they were explained about the plant and the processes. In the site visit, the students were virtually briefed about the steel production process step-by-step. The day was a whole new experience for the students.
On the 19th September the third day of the camp started with an address by the the guest Mr.Siva Rama Prasad deputy director MSME conducted a very interactive and informative session. He discussed about the schemes in the govt. of Tamilnadu to aid the young innovators and entrepreneurs. He explained the individual vouchers for the respective kind of projects. He also mentioned about the help at various stages of the project provided by the govt. He was full of energy and inspired the young minds.
Afternoon session the guest M.R. Jagannathan spoke about entrepreneurship and the present scenario in the field. He gave a deeper insight about the opportunities which can be utilized by the young entrepreneurs. He also mentioned about the schemes in MSME for the young entrepreneurs and briefed about its benefits. He talked about the incubation centers set up in India and also mentioned few of them.
A faculty member from our management department belonging in the institution mentioned the ethics and values , along with the communication skill set required for an new entrepreneur. She also insisted about the etiquette of a professional.
The camp on the whole provided an enthusiastic and informative experience for the aspiring young entrepreneurs .The camp ended on a good note.
