The event saw enthusiastic participation from 24 teams, totaling 48 students, who took part in a series of rounds designed to test their problem-solving skills, creativity, and quick thinking.
The success of this event can be attributed to the tremendous efforts of the student coordinators, Rohini (3rd Year, RA2211013020057) and Lakshan (2nd Year, RA2311013020040), who demonstrated outstanding leadership and coordination throughout the planning and execution process. The leadership provided by the convenor, Dr. Ushus S. Kumar, Head of the Department, played a critical role in shaping the event. Under their guidance, the event was structured in a way that challenged students to think critically, solve problems creatively, and collaborate effectively. Dr. Ushus S. Kumar’s vision and hands-on support throughout the planning and implementation phases ensured that “Connecxionz” would be a platform for students to push their intellectual boundaries and showcase their problem-solving abilities. Their strategic direction and commitment to making the event a success was truly commendable.
Equally important were the faculty coordinators, Dr. R. Their continued support for such student-driven initiatives highlights their commitment to fostering an environment where students can thrive academically and professionally.
The event itself consisted of three exciting rounds that tested participants in various aspects of problem-solving and creativity. In the first round, Mindmaze, participants had to navigate a word maze consisting of 28 questions, including tie-breaker questions. The challenge required quick thinking and creative problem-solving, with each correct answer earning 2 marks. The top 12 teams, based on their performance, advanced to the next round.
Round 2, Cinesync, tested the participants’ knowledge of popular movies by challenging them to connect displayed images to movie names. With 15 questions, this round demanded both fast recall and a deep familiarity with cinema. Correct answers earned 10 marks, while incorrect answers resulted in a 5-mark penalty. After this round, the top 6 teams advanced to the final round.
The final round, Rapid Relay, put the participants’ ability to think quickly and make connections under pressure to the test. Teams had 60 seconds to solve a set of word connections, and the team that identified the most connections and scored the highest was declared the winner. This round required agility in thinking and the ability to make associations quickly, making it an exciting conclusion to the event.
The event concluded with the announcement of the top three winning teams, whose performance reflected the dedication, teamwork, and creativity required to excel in such a competitive environment. The enthusiasm and competitive spirit displayed by all participants made “Connecxionz” a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
