Introduction:
The Aug. 26–Sept. 23 event, organized by Camogenics and featuring both online and in-person courses, ignited participants’ love for filmmaking. It addressed important facets of the industry. It started with a look at pre-production, with a focus on screenplay creation and the distinction between writing and shooting scripts. Planning for the shoot was organized efficiently. Additionally, participants honed their directing abilities and explored cinematography, mastering camera angles, lighting, and composition. Short films that were the result of teamwork were exhibited in a final screening. 34 people signed up for the event as a whole.

The Programme began with a thorough examination of pre-production, during which participants learnt the nuances of transforming concepts into concrete screenplays. As they dug deeper into the procedure, they learned the critical distinctions between writing screenplays and shooting scripts and developed a thorough understanding of how a story develops from the page to the screen. Mr. Praveen Thiru, an aspiring director and writer, led this enlightening discussion.As participants dove into the intricate details of organizing the ideal shot, scheduling evolved into an art form. With the help of professionals, they mastered the art of planning shoot days, making every second on set effective and fruitful.The participants developed their abilities while being guided by professionals in the field, with the heart of filmmaking, direction, taking centre stage. They developed their individual directing styles via practical training, learning to put their imaginative thoughts to the big screen.

Another important component of the workshop was cinematography, the visual poetry of film. Participants dove into the world of camera angles, lighting, and composition as they investigated the technical and aesthetic facets of getting the ideal photo. They developed a good sense for structuring scenes that make engaging tales.
Collaboration and camaraderie were promoted throughout the programme as participants worked together to produce short videos that displayed their newly acquired knowledge. These cinematic works were screened as the class came to a close, leaving the audience in awe of the skill and imagination on display.
Camogenics is pleased to have led this instructive exploration of the craft of filmmaking and provided the participants with the resources and information they needed to go out on their own cinematic journeys. The Short Film Workshop served as a monument to the value of education, creativity, and storytellers’ unwavering spirit. Our camogenics club members Sabari Vathsan and Dhinesh led this cinematography workshop in Jeeva Park, Tnagar.
September 23 : Editing session in Gallery hall 2
As the curtains came down on this spectacular event, attendees learned about the editing process but also departed with more than just new skills; they also left with a burning passion to share their tales with the world, armed with the knowledge and inspiration obtained from this remarkable workshop. Mr. Aravindan, the club faculty coordinator, presented participants with certificates of completion. On the event, participants were asked for their opinions.
Participants left the workshop motivated to begin creative journeys in the realm of filmmaking after being equipped with the information and inspiration to achieve their cinematic aspirations.
