Description of the Event/Objective:
As part of TEXUS ’26, the Department of Electrical and Electronics successfully organized an exciting and intellectually engaging event titled “Cine Phile.” The event was designed to test students’ cinematic knowledge, observation skills, creativity, and performance abilities while fostering a spirit of healthy competition. The competition was conducted in three dynamic rounds: BGM Identification Round, where participants identified movies from iconic background scores; Green Screen Clue Round, where descriptive hints were given to guess specific movie scenes; and Scene Recreation Round, where teams recreated famous scenes with expressions and dialogue delivery. Each round challenged the participants’ memory, analytical thinking, and stage presence. Students enthusiastically participated in teams, demonstrating strong teamwork, quick thinking, and impressive acting skills. The event created a vibrant and energetic atmosphere, making Cine Phile one of the most memorable highlights of TEXUS ’26.
Event Highlights:
- Successfully conducted on 27th February 2026 from 9.00 AM to 12.00 Noon at Room 203, 3rd Block.
- Organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, SRM IST Ramapuram.
- Active participation of 40 students (20 teams) from various institutions, including SRM IST Ramapuram, SRM Vadapalani, Ethiraj Women’s College, and Panimalar Engineering College.
- Conducted in three dynamic rounds: BGM Identification, Green Screen Clue Round, and Scene Recreation Round.
- Encouraged teamwork, creativity, quick thinking, and stage performance skills.
- Featured Mr. Nandha Kumar R (Alumnus & VFX/Creative Producer) as the Resource Person, adding industry insight to the event.
- Created a vibrant and competitive atmosphere, making it one of the memorable events of TEXUS ’26.
- Received excellent participant feedback regarding organization, enjoyment, and overall experience.
Event Outcomes:
The Cine Phile event significantly enhanced students’ cinematic awareness, observation skills, and analytical thinking. Through the interactive rounds, participants developed quick decision-making abilities and improved their stage confidence. The Scene Recreation Round, in particular, strengthened communication skills, expression, and teamwork. The event also fostered healthy competition and inter-college interaction. Feedback collected from participants reflected high levels of satisfaction regarding organization, enjoyment, and overall experience, indicating the event’s success in achieving its objectives.
Conclusion:
Cine Phile emerged as one of the vibrant and memorable events of TEXUS ’26. The program successfully combined entertainment with intellectual engagement, providing students with a dynamic platform to showcase their talents beyond academics. The enthusiastic participation, positive feedback, and smooth coordination by the organizing team contributed to the grand success of the event.
